QUATUOR INTERNATIONAL DE SAXOPHONES

Quartet Cd CoverThe QUATUOR INTERNATIONAL DE SAXOPHONES was formed in 2000 and grew out of the idea that the members had known each other for a number of  years, yet  had rarely performed together. Members hail from France, Japan, Canada and the USA.

They have recently commissioned new works by composers of diverse cultural and national backgrounds including: French composers Roger Boutry and Sylvain Kassap, Belgian Frederic Devreese, Testurosuke Kushida from Japan, and American Carleton Macy. Each year the members meet in different parts of the world to perform together, tour and explore new directions in contemporary music.

They have just released this live performance CD from their recent North American Tour. In the summer of 2009, they performed for the World Saxophone Congress in Bangkok, Thailand with premiers of two new compositions.
